The Seqlense Regulatory Brief - Edition #29 EN

Edition #29 covers two publications adopted on the same day, 13 October 2026, which show Europe organising the supervision of technological uses. The Joint Committee of the EBA, EIOPA and ESMA placed AI and tokenisation at the heart of its 2027 work programme, conducted mainly through the EFIF: cross-cutting monitoring of use cases, coordination between financial sandboxes and those of the AI Act, and a third information-gathering exercise on BigTechs. The same day, the EDPB adopted its Statement 1/2026 on smart glasses, allocating GDPR responsibilities between users, manufacturers and AI providers and requiring transparency and minimisation by design. The weak signal: regulators are now tracking technologies that cut across several sectors and several legal frameworks at once; neither text creates new obligations, but both prepare the supervision to come.
